Product Info

What you should also know: Perennial ryegrass is the workhorse of cool-season sports turf. It germinates fast, establishes quickly, and produces a fine-bladed, dark green surface that holds up under repeated foot traffic. It performs especially well in BC’s mild, wet coastal climate. The fescue in the blend adds shade tolerance and drought resilience. It is “un-netted,” which means the sod has no synthetic backing making it easier to cut to shape on-site and integrates more naturally with the soil.

Benefits:
  • Excellent drainage and wear resistance
  • Natural regenerative properties that fill in worn or patchy areas
  • Strong root system
  • Up to 50% water savings with drought-tolerant blends

Western Turf Farms has developed a range of home and garden sod blends that thrive in the unique growing locations found throughout Western Canada. Knowing how much light, water, and traffic a lawn will experience is a great way to start narrowing down the list of options to find the best sod for the site. Another factor homeowners should consider is how the space will be used. Is the goal to create a sophisticated showcase lawn or a multi-functional backyard to complement family life? Regardless of the end goal, know that all of our sods are carefully cultivated with proper fertilization and care, creating weed and pesticide free sods that are safe for family and pets. You Can Have a Great Looking Lawn in One Day

An experienced lawn crew will get all your sod grass installed in just a matter of hours. It’s a great option if you want it to look professionally done — you can go to work in the morning with a sad-looking yard and come home after work to a perfect lawn.

It’s Easy To Get it Done

Once your new grass is installed, remember to keep it watered. In most areas of British Columbia, watering your lawn usually isn’t much of a problem. Mother Nature typically helps with this, but you will probably still need to do some watering in the first two or three weeks.
During our dry Summers, you may have to lightly water up to several times a day.

Can I Install the Sod?

You can always do the sod installation yourself if you want to. Local farms offer new grass sod for sale and they will deliver your order straight to your home. Your new grass arrives neatly stacked on pallets and you can do the rest.
If you are planning on doing the sodding yourself, make sure to get started as soon as the pallets are dropped off. Fresh cut grass from sod farms is perishable and you need to get it laid onto the soil and watered as soon as you can.

Sod Prices – How Much is to Cost?

Hearty, dependable and locally grown grass sod rolls are not cheap, but they are not too expensive either. A grass delivery service can be a great investment for your home. A top-notch lawn will add to your home’s curb appeal, which increases your home’s potential real estate value. That’s why it is a number one tactic of professional house sellers and home flippers.

When it comes to what you will pay, the main factor in the price of the lawn sod delivery is simply the number of square feet of new grass you’re going to need. The more you need, the more it will cost.

If you can accurately measure your yard and arrive at a good estimate of how many square feet you need to cover, you can speak with a sod company and receive a quote on how much you need and how many pallets you should order. They can give you a pretty quick quote on how much it will cost to truck those pallets out to your house and lay it down. In some cases, someone may be able to actually drive out
to your home and do the measuring for you.

So Where Do I Start?

1. Take some measurements of your yard.
